Eligible majors: Any BS Major is eligible for the BS/MS Biostatistics program.
Application deadlines: March 1 for fall admission, November 1 for spring admission. Exceptions made.
This program is intended to be an honors graduate program for highly motivated and qualified BS students who wish to pursue an advanced degree. Students admitted to the Program may, in their junior and/or senior year, take up to nine credit hours of graduate courses that will count toward both BS and MS requirements.
Advantages to our BS/MS students vs doing a traditional BS and then a Master's program:
• No application fee is required
• The GRE exam is not required
• Two admission periods: Fall and Spring
• Nine credits less than doing the programs consecutively
• Students pay the lower undergraduate tuition
Minimal GPA of 3.0
Applications to the Program must be made after the completion of 75 credit hours of coursework and prior to attaining senior status (completion of 90 credit hours).
The Biostatistics Master’s program qualifies as a STEM degree, which allows international students in a technical field to apply for a 24-month extension to their optional practical training (OPT) period. This means students may be eligible for up to three years of work in the United States.
