The Center for Modern Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases is committed to designing and performing epidemiologic research on infectious diseases. The Center is committed to developing the future leaders in the field of infectious disease epidemiology. The Center is committed to promoting and maintaining faculty of the highest quality to conduct research and act as teachers and mentors for students and trainees.
Through collaborations with the TBRU, the CFAR, and individual investigators, the Center has established a project and data coordinationg center at CWRU which coordinates observational studies and clinical trials in Uganda, Brazil, and the U.S. This is a rich environment for learning about study design, data collection, form development, project logistics, and study coordination. It is also an excellent environment for learning database construction, maintenance, and management. With two statistical analysts, it is also an excellent setting for learning biostatistical techniques for analyzing infectious disease data. |
