The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics currently offers a multidisciplinary PhD and two Master's degree programs: a M.S. in Biostatistics and a Master's of Public Health (MPH). For additional information regarding the MPH Program, please contact Courtney Lowe at

Application Requirements
Prospective students interested in our program will apply through the School of Graduate Studies. Detailed information regarding University requirements and application submittion information can be found here.
All application materials must be received by January 15th to ensure consideration for admission and funding. Applications received between January 15th and April 15th will be considered pending the availability of remaining slots in the program. Applications received after April 15th will not be reviewed for admission.
*Note: MD/PhD dual-degree program applicants are not subject to the January 15th or April 15th deadlines but are strongly encouraged to apply early.

Statement of Purpose – a strongly written essay, highlighting your academic experience and any relevant experience/application to your current interest (internships, jobs, research, etc.). Students with clearly defined research interests that match those of a faculty member and career goals are significantly more likely to be accepted and to receive support. International Applicants
The TOEFL test is a requirement of all non-native English language speakers. A vadid TOEFL score must be submitted upon application to the program; otherwise, we will not be able to consider you application. The TOEFL will be waived for international students who received a previous degree from an accredited U.S. institution or from an institution where English was the primary language of instruction. Waivers may also be granted in special circumstances pending student petition and approval by the Dean of Graduate Studies.
The minimum TOEFL score required for consideration for admission:
- Paper-based 577
- Computer-based (IELTS) 7.0
- Internet-based (iBT) 90
In addition, international applicants are required to submit an Affidavit of Support (ex. bank statement) to ensure he/she has sufficient funds to support his/her studies at the University.
